    Kershaw Leek (from kershaw http://www.knivesplus.com/kershaw-leek-knives.html)

The Kershaw Leek Knives were designed by custom knife maker Ken Onion. The Kershaw Leeks have the patented Ken Onion Speed-Safe assisted opening mechanism. (Speed-Safe is a torsion bar system that assists the blade to an open position, when activated by a push on the thumb stud, or the Index-Open blade extension.)

The Kershaw Leek knives are available with stainless steel handles or aluminum handles. The stainless steel handled Leek knives are: Leek with original matte finish in plain or part serrated edge, Black Leek with all over tungsten DLC coat in plain or part serrated edge, and Rainbow Leek with all over rainbow Titanium Oxide coat. No two Rainbow Leeks are exactly alike. The aluminum handled Leek knives have unique smoke anodized scales in Black and Blue, Black and Red, or Black and White

This knife begs to be opened the second it comes out of its box. Releasing the safety and pressing the blade extension, the knife springs into action opening smoothly and confidently. It locks into place with surprisingly solid feel. I can almost guarantee you will open and close this knife several times with a big smile as you watch it snap open with little to no effort. Once you get passed the fun/cool factor of how the knife opens, you start to admire the quality and good looks of this little, razor sharp pocket knife.
The 4" handle has a well thought out shape that fits comfortably in your hands. With the blade closed or open, you can feel how well put together this knife is. Shake the knife and you will hear no rattles or loose parts moving around as you do with some other cheaper quality knives.
The 3" blade is razor sharp out of the box and ready for work as soon as you are. I dare you to refrain from finding something to cut just to see if its as sharp as it looks. Trust me, it is.
The leek comes with a pocket clip that is slim and tight making sure that it stays in place. The Leek will ride in your pocket all day without weighing you down or having to adjust for comfort. It comes ready to spring into action.
Working on the river I use my knife daily; cutting everything from boxes, ropes, straps, hoses, plastic bottles. You name it and we end up cutting it one time or another. This knife has pulled threw like a champ.
This knife was recommended to me by good friends who carry them daily. I'm thankful that they turned me on to this little power house. It is now part of my EDC supplies.

I have carried a Kershaw for about 10 years. My current one is a Boa. I work offshore and my knives get extremely heavy duty usage...Have never had a Kershaw fail for any reason.

I think Kershaw makes the best non-custom knives.

looks like i need a new knife i somehow managed to break the blade on mine this morning cutting a big zip tie off of a handrail. i think im gonna get something with open assist. this is a kershaw that our company had the company name etched in the blade and out little emblem inserted in the grip area. ive had it for probably 5-6 years.
